Hi Everyone! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted… *shame* However, some HUGE things are happening with my book right now! I haven’t talked about my book for a while, have I? Well, without further ado, I will present to you my book cover, and its summary.
What do you think? I really like it…and I think that it totally captures the spirit of my book. What’s the spirit of it? Well, here’s the summary:
A magic bottle…
A teenage beauty…
A Universe of pursuit.
It’s the beginning of summer vacation for sixteen-year-old Virginia, and since finding the enchanting Ruby Vial, she’s plunged into danger. Conflict pulls her brother, best friend, and everyone involved into a whirlwind of adventures. After Virginia saved the Ruby Vial from obliteration, a shady gangster is filled with bloodlust and won’t stop until he gets his hands on her and the Vial. Magic and mystery swirl around Virginia, and strange events arise. The Ruby Vial may very well hold life in check, and destroy the Universe if the mission fails – all while in the hands of a teenager searching for strength within, only to find she needs to draw on others. Visions of the future, attacks, kidnappings, travel, explosions, and murder fill this page-turning novel with suspense and surprise.
I can’t believe that I haven’t shared all of this with you guys before! I’m not sure why I haven’t… . Well, at least you know now.
However, along with all that, I have more news. I am determined to have my book published in September – of this year. I have been working non-stop on my book this past week, and will continue until it is finished. So, instead of spending summer days lounging around reading, or hanging out with my friends, I will be in my room chewing on a pen, possibly pulling my hair out, and editing like crazy. I will also drag my mom into it (thanks for volunteering, Mom!) to help me get it done in a timely fashion.
Get excited people – the time is almost here. Also, as another sign of how close I am to finishing, I am proud to release my brand-new official website. Click here to visit it – and be sure to let me know what you think. It only took a full day of designing/creating/screaming/panicking to put together. It may or may not have fried my nerves. Really, though, it was WAY easier than I expected it to be…and pretty fun. It’s just…some programming things with computers are…nerve wracking, to say the least.
Just as a side note: if all of you could tell others about my book/website, that would be fantastic. I need as much help as I can get marketing my book. That is the downside to self-publishing – all the marketing is on the author. So please, share it on Facebook, Twitter, your blogs, word-of-mouth with friends – anything and everything is greatly appreciated! 😀
I am just so blessed with how God has worked all of this out. Sure, this has been a very long, tiring, and challenging process, but God has brought so many people into my life, and blessed me in so many ways. Just by being a writer I have met a whole new group of people. Even all of you! I originally began this blog as a way to let the public know who I am and about my book. It has grown into so much more than that – a circle of friends – but I don’t think I would’ve started a blog if it hadn’t been for my book in the first place. Isn’t God amazing? He just works things out perfectly.
I am so excited to see what God has in store for my blog, website, book, and writing style. He has blessed me in getting to know all of you, in meeting professional writers who have taken me under their wing and shared their advice with me, and hooked me up with the most amazing publishing company. I am just so thankful.
I hope all of you are having a fantabulous Sunday, and continue to have a great week! Remember, Jesus loves each and everyone one of you, and we are instruments of His grace. 1 John 4:9-11, “This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
