“Suspenseful book!

I loved this book so much that I could not put it down! Every page was filled with suspense and made you want to read more! I didn’t know that such a young writer could write with such detail and beauty. The author uses words to describe the situation perfectly. Each character in this book has their own story that everyone can to relate to in their own way.

As a teen I loved this book so I know that other teens my age would love it too! If you like to read a beautifully written book that keeps you on the edge of your seat then this is the book to read!”

Catalina Stephens, age 13

“Good read

Holding the Future Hostage was a very enjoyable read, it was action packed and continually keeping you on your toes.
The characters were interesting, and the plot intriguing. I hope to see more of The Legacy of the Ruby Vial!”

RADagast, age 17

“Loved the excitement!

This book is incredible from the beginning. Hold on to your seat because the ride does not slow down much or for long! I could feel the emotions of the characters. The author wrote as if she were actually in these locations which make it very real. I believe the ending was brilliantly written for such a young author, leaves me wanting more. I thought it might get a little tricky to pull off the ending, but she did it with style! Thanks for such a good read!”

Vicky, a homeschool mom

“Exciting and Creative!

I enjoyed the book immensely! Your plot was so very creative, not to mention exciting!  I loved the way that there was never a boring part in the entire book…something was always happening.  I loved the book and I am really impressed. I can’t imagine all the effort that you put into it. So, congratulations!  And thanks for a great read.

…Thank you for making the book have a good ending! It was everything a good ending should be–satisfying, complete, and happy.  I thought you did a really good job with describing and using imagery. I could totally picture it in my mind, and that is exactly what I want to be able to do when I read a book.”

—“A truly captivating novel

I enjoyed Holding the Future Hostage immensely! The plot is not only exciting, but extremely creative, and I was so drawn into the story that I could hardly put the book down. There is not a dull moment in this novel, it’s pages being filled to the brim with action and suspense. The ending is equally good and left me feeling quite pleased and satisfied. Overall, I found this to be a great read. I would highly recommend to any sci-fi action lover!”

-Kiah, age 17

—“Non-stop action

I really enjoyed this book. It is packed with non-stop adventure and action. There is never a dull moment in this book. It is very captivating and exciting to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves action filled Science Fiction.”

-Isaac, age 16

Five Star Novel

“…From the start you would think Virginia is your quintessential good little girl, always doing the right thing and Shawn is the bad guy trying to foil her plans. But everything is definitely not what it seems. Shawn seems like too important a character to disregard and it’s difficult not to relate to him and get drawn into his story. Of course, the Ruby Vial causes even more problems and raises even more questions. What is it? …Where did it come from? …I couldn’t wait to keep turning pages and find out what would happen next….”

Samantha Rivera, for Readers’ Favorite

—“I absolutely loved this book

I absolutely loved this book!!! It pulled you in right away. I couldn’t stop reading it! I recommend this book to everyone. I was so sad when I finished the book and I can’t wait for her sequel.”

-Shayla Murdock, age 13

—“An intriguing read

I think what most intrigued me about “Holding The Future Hostage” was the unique plot. To think that a perfume bottle could hold the entire universe in check…it’s a very creative and mind-blowing idea.  …Shawn in particular was probably my favorite character, and the one that had the best character arc throughout the book. I’m excited that the second book will focus a lot more on him and how he came to be like he is.”

-Melody Jackson, age 17

“Great book!

A great book by an up-and-coming young author. The suspense will have you on the edge of your seat! Can’t wait for her next one!”

-Kami Neighbors, a mother

“AMMAZING!

This book has definitely made my ‘favorites’ list.’ It kept me on the edge of my seat and I read it more than once. Definitely bursting with creativity and vividly written! 🙂 I’d recommend it to anyone.”

-K.J., age 14

“Holding the Future Hostage Triumphs in the Sci-Fi genre

I’ve only ever read science fiction books or fiction books and this is one of my favorite! This book kept me captivated and locked on it from start to finish and I’m sure it will do the same for anyone else that loves, or even just likes science fiction. The plot, characters, and the adventure is what I loved about this book. You would’ve never known it was her first book, until someone told you.”

-Joseph, age 17

“Holding my attention hostage

This book is very intriguing. It’s captivating and it keeps your attention. It’s action packed and suspenseful but it’s not gory or inappropriate. The writing style is very unique and creative. It is clean and it’s well done. I would definitely recommend this book.”

-Jesse, age 16

“A wonderful book!

This was such an exciting and suspenseful book! Even though I was exhausted and could barely keep my eyes open, I kept reading until 2 O’Clock in the morning to finish this great book, because I just couldn’t put it down. -Mikayla”

-Mikayla, age 14

“Quite Entertaining

I must say, I was never bored with this book. Just when I thought it was going to be cliché she put a little twist into it that made me always wonder what was behind the next page. The story plot was very original and intriguing. I hate books that leave you wondering if you should expect a sequel but feeling like you wouldn’t want to read more because of how it ended. But this author did a very good job of wrapping it up and leaving you satisfied. Very well done :)”
